Kate joins the Back To The Garden team

Back to the Garden Childcare has appointed Kate Kelly as administrative assistant.

Reporting into nursery manager Ann Marie Ellison, Kate will help with the day-to-day running of the natural child-led day nursery on Sinderland Road in Broadheath, assisting parents, carers and visitors with questions and queries and handling administrative tasks such as booking schedules, invoicing and registering and welcoming new children.

Mum to a soon-to-be teenager, Kate has a wealth of hands-on experience with children and is also looking forward to communicating and celebrating the individual achievements of each of the nursery’s children as they develop and learn at their own pace.

Prior to joining Back to the Garden Childcare, Kate was the finance and office manager for a childcare voucher company where she spent 13 years running all aspects of the business.  In her new role, she aims to use her experience to streamline processes and increase day-to-day efficiencies while increasing bookings and ensuring a high standard is maintained.

She was attracted to Back to the Garden’s local reputation, commenting: “When the role came up, I knew that it was the one for me.  It is both challenging and varied which I really enjoy.  I had also heard great things about the nursery; the people are so lovely here, both the staff team and our amazing families and children.  The nursery facilities really are fantastic and you can see how happy the children are every day.”

Nursery manager, Ann Marie Ellison, said: “I am delighted to welcome Kate to the team, and so pleased with the way she has settled in.  The parents and children love her and she is already making a great contribution to the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery.”

Age 40, Kate lives in Sandbach and is engaged to be married next year.  She has one son, Vinny who is 12 years old and sits on the autistic spectrum.  One of the best things that has ever happened to Kate, he helps her see the wonder in everything and brightens up any cloudy day.  When not working, Kate enjoys being outdoors, taking her son for adventures that include splashing in puddles, snowboarding, wakeboarding and getting out on their BMX bikes.

Based in Altrincham and coming soon to Lymm, Back to the Garden is an innovative child-led day nursery that focuses on active learning through outdoor play in a stunning garden setting.  Its philosophy of allowing children to be children to explore their environment, experiment with the outdoor playscape and harness their own imaginations allows for a natural approach where each child develops at their own pace.
